Vaporwave Bathroom Ideas

One real bathroom lit in pink and teal neon, everything else left in place.

Real bathroom before redesign: white tiled walls, beige laminate vanity, oval mirror, bathtub with a glass shower screenBefore

Vaporwave is almost entirely a lighting trick: pink and teal neon washing over plain white tile, a cyan strip along the ceiling and another edging the mirror, and enough chrome to bounce it all around. The blush fluted vanity and the big monstera give the colour something to land on. Strip the light back out and you have an ordinary white bathroom, which is exactly why this one is cheaper to build than it looks.

Questions

Is vaporwave expensive to build?
No, and that is the surprise. It is mostly coloured LED strip, chrome fittings and reflective accessories over tile you may already have. There is no stone slab or bespoke joinery carrying it, so it is one of the cheaper looks in this whole set.
Does it work in daylight?
Not really, and it is important to be clear about that. The neon reads at night; in daylight the window washes it out to a white bathroom with chrome. If your bathroom gets a lot of sun, you are buying an after-dark look.
Is coloured LED safe over a bath?
It has to be the right kind. Any strip near the wet zone needs an appropriate IP humidity rating and proper enclosure, and the transformer stays outside the splash area. The render places the glow around the mirror and floor rather than inside the shower, which is the sensible approach.
Chrome or brass for vaporwave?
Chrome, without much argument. The look is cool-toned and digital, and chrome mirrors the pink and teal back at you. Brass would warm it up and pull it toward a different era entirely.
