- The freestanding-furniture version does. Console vanities, freestanding tubs and open shelving all read best with floor around them, which a tight bathroom does not have. You can still get the look in a small room, but lean on the panelling, colour and brass rather than the big furniture.
- Where does storage go without a closed cabinet?
- Into the baskets on the lower shelf and onto wall shelves, which is less than a cupboard holds and all of it on show. If you keep a lot under your sink, an open console is a real downgrade; a closed shaker-front vanity painted sage gets you the same look without losing the storage.
